Mount Stuart is not a hotel, nor is it a typical wedding venue. Mount Stuart is an exclusive use venue that is experienced by only a handful of clients each year. Sat within 300 acres of the finest gardens in the world with the Clyde estuary providing a beautiful backdrop, the exclusivity and flexibility that Mount Stuart offers clients allows them to plan their wedding with celebration and relaxation for their guests at the forefront.

Built in the 19th century as the architectural fantasy of the 3rd Marquess of Bute and his architect Robert Rowan Anderson, innovation, art, astrology, and astronomy can be found in every corner of the house. The house is a labyrinth of grand rooms, hallways and staircases created by a team of British craftsmen. With 22 authentically styled bedrooms that can accommodate up to 37 guests, Mount Stuart offers you and your guests an experience like no other.

The breath-taking Marble Chapel, located on the main floor of the house offers the perfect location for you to exchange your vows. The floor is a replica of the Sistine Chapel, the stunning centrepiece to Italian Carrera Marble walls and ruby red stained-glass windows glowing above you. The chapel offers flexibility for both intimate and large wedding allowing you to be surrounded by your closest family and friends.

The front lawn and forecourt offer a location for your guests to relax and enjoy the drinks reception on a warm summer’s day. With the house offering an impressive backdrop your guests can relax playing some lawn games or enjoy a tour of the house where our knowledgeable guides will blow them away with their stories and the history of Mount Stuart.

The Marble Hall, situated in the heart of the house provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy your first meal as newlyweds. At 80ft tall, and composed of more than 20 types of marble, the Marble Hall is one of the most captivating spaces decorated with a map of the stars studded with glass crystals adorns the vaulted ceiling, the richly coloured stained glass symbolising the signs of the zodiac and their corresponding seasons. A room which is sure to leave your guests in awe whilst dining and dancing the night away.

Looking for a more intimate celebration? The Family Dining Room may be exactly what you are after. Adorned with an outstanding series of 18th century family portraits and crystal chandeliers the Family Dining Rooms offers the perfect spot for an intimate gathering for up to 40 guests.

From the luxuriously decorated Blue Bedroom on the Gallery to the quaintness of Stravannan on the fourth floor each bedroom has its own unique story and style.

The Horoscope Room, our very own bridal suite, offers a luxurious bedroom for you to spend the night after a long day of celebrations. Originally the 3rd Marquess’ study, this room takes its name from the elaborate astrological ceiling. With its own conservatory, the Horoscope Room is the ideal preparation room to relax on the morning of your big day whilst sipping on champagne overlooking the Front Lawn and the River Clyde.
